On 9 June 2024, on the day of the elections to the European Parliament, local governments and of national minority advocates, Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary and his wife cast their votes in Szeged. After the vote, the President said that since there have been free elections in Hungary, his wife Zsuzsa and he have always exercised their right to vote, and again urged his fellow citizens to vote as well.

Katalin Novák in Békés County
As promised, in 2024, the President of Hungary has resumed her visits to the counties.
In Békés County, the Sándor Palace in remote office programme began, similarly to earlier county visits, with the raising of the national flag with military honours. Local residents graced the event with their attendance.
The Head of State then held talks with the county's leaders and Members of Parliament on the most important issues and problems affecting the region and its inhabitants.
Appointment as General in Sándor Palace
The President of Hungary - on a proposal by the Minister of Finance - appointed Dr. Ferenc Domokos, Colonel of the Financial Guard, to the rank of Brigadier General of the Financial Guard, with effect from 26 January 2024.

Dr Gellért Sölch has more than a decade of administrative experience. He started his career at the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice, then joined the Ministry of Human Resources, first as Deputy Chief of Cabinet, later as Chief of Cabinet of the Minister and Deputy State Secretary for Strategic Affairs. Between 2022 and 31 January 2024, he acted as Deputy State Secretary for Strategic Affairs in the Ministry of Interior.

It is important to prevent the escalation of the war in Ukraine - Katalin Novák at the WEF in Davos
It is very important to avoid a third world war and to prevent the escalation of the conflict, said President of Hungary Katalin Novák on Wednesday morning at a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Asked by the moderator of the discussion whether EU support for Ukraine should be continued, Katalin Novák stressed that Ukraine must be supported against Russia in the future as well, and that Hungary will continue its support, too.

Katalin Novák held talks with the President of the European Commission at the Davos World Economic Forum. The President gave an account of the meeting on her social media page on Tuesday.
We had to discuss many challenging issues with Ursula von der Leyen- wrote the President. She added that the focus of the discussion was on Hungarian youth and the Erasmus+ program.
