András Baka, President of Hungary, expresses his condolences to the President of Nepal

Dear Mr. President,

I was deeply saddened to learn of the devastating flash floods that have struck Nepal and their tragic consequences.

I wish to assure those who have suffered losses – particularly the families of the deceased and the anxious relatives of those still missing – of the sincere sympathy of Hungary and the Hungarian people. We also share in the pain of those whose homes and livelihoods have been put at risk.

Our country, too, is going through anxious times, as Hungarian citizens are also among those missing in the floods. I hope that the rescue workers and the helpers, who are carrying out heroic efforts, will succeed in finding as many survivors as possible.

I wish you strength and perseverance in this difficult situation!
