My fellow countrymen! 

Hungarians celebrating in the Carpathian Basin and around the world!

Sixty-nine years ago, people from the diverse community of Hungarians courageously took to the streets to celebrate freedom. Coming from different walks of life, social positions, and values, they set out together on the same path.

V4 Heads of State Summit convened by President Tamás Sulyok

Hungary, which currently holds the rotating presidency of the organisation, will host the Heads of State of the Visegrad Cooperation in Esztergom on Wednesday, 3 December 2025.

Hungary consistently and continuously advocates for close cooperation between the V4 countries, which is the basis for stability, security and strengthening in the region. 

The Head of State is representing Hungary at the EU-Africa Summit in Luanda

Dr. Tamás Sulyok will represent Hungary at the European Union-African Union Summit in Luanda.

Starting 24 November 2025, the President of Hungary will represent Hungary at the 7th EU–Africa Summit in the Angolan capital.

The meeting of heads of state and government aims to establish and sustain regular, ongoing dialogue on the key issues and challenges facing the countries of the two continents, linked by a strategic partnership.

At the meeting, our country will be represented by the President of Hungary for the first time in 15 years. 

Meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres at the Second World Summit for Social Development

The events of recent years in global politics and the increase in the number of armed conflicts have reinforced the importance of a strong, decisive and effective organisation, said Tamás Sulyok after meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres at the Second World Summit on Social Development. According to the President of Hungary, the 80-year history of the UN is proof that multilateral diplomacy is not just a noble idea, but one of the most important international means of achieving peace, security and prosperity.

The votes express the democratic will of the electorate

On 9 June 2024, on the day of the elections to the European Parliament, local governments and of national minority advocates, Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary and his wife cast their votes in Szeged. After the vote, the President said that since there have been free elections in Hungary, his wife Zsuzsa and he have always exercised their right to vote, and again urged his fellow citizens to vote as well.

Tamás Sulyok emphasized the need for revitalizing our communities.

We need to rebuild ourselves to each other, setting aside all obstacles, fears, uncertainties, and distrust, although this is not easy in the era of infidelity, where we lose the grace of connection, stated the President.

That I'm here for the first time, I experienced that it is, let's say, a constructive chaos, what we experience here, and also what the traffic is concerned, it's very difficult to get from one place to the other, but I have to assure you that the Swiss trains are on time. I took the train and it worked perfectly.

Receipt of ambassadorial credentials at Sándor Palace

President of Hungary Katalin Novák received the credentials of four ambassadors accredited to Hungary, who can now even officially begin their work in our country.

The Presidents of Slovenia and Hungary visited the National Széchényi Library

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Hungary and Slovenia, the National Széchényi Library staged an exhibition titled “Vivat Slovenia! / Vivat Slovenija!”. The exhibition was opened by President of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar and President of Hungary Katalin Novák on Wednesday.

At the opening ceremony, Katalin Novák announced that the director generals of the two national libraries signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday morning in Sándor Palace, in the presence of the two countries’ Heads of State.

Katalin Novák met with female mayors in Kékcse

During her two-day visit to Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County, the President of Hungary conducted an exchange of views with female mayors in Kékcse.

In her welcome speech, Katalin Novák called female leadership an additional responsibility for herself as well as the woman mayors present, because, as she said, they have to reconcile their family life with their professional life. She also said that women who take on public roles - because they are few in number – find themselves in the spotlight of attention much more than men.

We Hungarians, inside and outside our borders, can always count on each other – the President of Hungary declared at the unveiling ceremony of the statue of Ferenc Kölcsey in Nagykároly in the Partium on Wednesday.
At the unveiling ceremony of the memorial made by sculptor Lajos Győrfi at the square in front of the Mayor’s Office, Katalin Novák stressed that Kölcsey warns the Hungarians that we must enrich the future, protect the present and guard the past all at the same time.

The Chief of Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces briefed the Head of State on the state of the war

On Tuesday, President of Hungary and Commander in Chief of the Hungarian Defence Forces received in her office Lieutenant-General Ruszin-Szendi Romulusz Chief of Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces and Major-General János Szaszák, Deputy Director General of the Military National Security Service.

NATO must be unified and become stronger, but issues related to its enlargement should be discussed – declared President of Hungary Katalin Novák on One on One, a programme on the English language channel TRT World of Turkish Sate Television. The programme was broadcast late on Monday evening.

In the first part of the interview, Katalin Novák was asked about the NATO accession of Finland and Sweden. The President stressed that "in these difficult times we must remain united and show our strength".
NATO is an important alliance that must be strengthened – she underlined.

A school is the unity of students, teachers and parents

In a school, the unity of students, teachers and parents is necessary - said President of Hungary Katalin Novák in Gödöllő on Saturday, at the awards ceremony closing the 23rd Conference of Student Science Clubs in the Carpathian Basin.

She explained: we need teachers who pay attention to their students, put them in focus, work for their long-term interests.
