The President of Argentina pays a visit to Sándor Palace
Javier Milei became the first Argentine Head of State to visit Budapest, where he was received by Dr. Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary, at Sándor Palace.
The Hungarian Head of State emphasised: ‘The independent decision-making of nations strengthens stability and cooperation based on mutual respect.’
During their talks, they agreed on the importance of representing and asserting national interests on the international stage and in multilateral forums.
He added: ‘Argentina has traditionally been an important partner for Hungary in South America, and our diplomatic relations date back more than 100 years. Our common goal is to further strengthen dialogue and to consult regularly on issues that serve peace, sovereignty and stability.
Dr. Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary, thanked Javier Milei for ensuring that the 40,000 to 50,000 members of the Hungarian community living in Argentina have never been restricted in preserving their identity, enabling them to lead an active community and, above all, cultural life, whilst preserving their roots and traditions. The President of Hungary expressed the view that the Diaspora plays a particularly important role in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.
