Katalin Novák visits Prague at the invitation of Czech President Miloš Zeman

Katalin Novák arrived in the capital of the Czech Republic at the invitation of the Czech President Miloš Zeman on 7 June 2022.

At the bilateral, friendly meeting, the heads of state discussed the most pressing challenges of the current period of conflict. They agreed that the most important thing is to speak frankly and clearly, and to maintain a firm moral stance.

They strongly condemned Russian aggression against Ukraine. They stressed that care must be taken to ensure that sanctions against Russia do not hurt those more who are on the side of peace.

Both Presidents thought it was important to not just preserve, but to also strengthen the cooperation of the Visegrad Four.

The next day, on 8 June, Katalin Novák met Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala. The two politicians agreed that the Russian-Ukrainian war must be ended as soon as possible. They added that their countries should help refugees to the best of their abilities.
Katalin Novák explained that Hungary counts on Prague in gaining access to the EU funds that Hungary is legitimately entitled to receive.
