A strong Central Europe is in the interest of the whole continent – 3SI Summit in Warsawban
At the Three Seas Initiative Summit in Warsaw, President Tamás Sulyok stressed that Central Europe is - not only geographically but also strategically – the bridge of unity and stability that links the East and the West, and Hungary has a key role to play in this.
In his speech at the Business Forum, he underlined Hungary's commitment to regional cooperation and innovation. He pointed out that Hungary joined the initiative's Innovation Fund as early on as in autumn 2024, and has supported the development of market-based, sustainable infrastructure ever since.
According to the President, geopolitical challenges have highlighted the importance of regional cooperation and energy independence. In this spirit, Hungary is expanding its energy interconnections by preparing the Slovenian-Hungarian gas pipeline and developing its green energy and transport projects, such as the Via Carpatia corridor.
Polish President Andrzej Duda also spoke at the Forum, highlighting the region-shaping power of the Three Seas Initiative and the strategic support of the United States. The organisation currently includes 13 EU Member States and a growing number of strategic partners are joining, including Türkiye and Spain.
