Common values, common interests - Benjamin Netanyahu at Sándor Palace
President of Hungary Dr. Tamás Sulyok hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is on an official visit to Hungary, at Sándor Palace.
At the meeting between the Hungarian Head of State and the Israeli Prime Minister, the parties reviewed the state of bilateral relations, future opportunities and current international challenges.
Tamás Sulyok and Benjamin Netanyahu share the same views on issues related to security, national sovereignty and national identity. The Hungarian Head of State stressed that he is convinced that a strong Israel is indispensable not only for the security of the Middle East, but also for Europe, for the protection of European Jewry and for the fight against anti-Semitism.
Tamás Sulyok stressed that Hungary condemns anti-Semitism and has declared zero tolerance against all of its forms. The Hungarian President said that it was of the utmost importance that Jewish communities living in Hungary could feel safe and secure. The President said that Hungary firmly condemns all forms of terrorism.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his gratitude for Hungary's support and pointed out that "although we are both small nations, small nations can achieve great things".
This meeting follows a successful visit by Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog in February.
