Tamás Sulyok welcomed the Chairman of China’s National People’s Congress
President Tamás Sulyok received Zhao Leji, Chairman of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, who is on an official visit to Hungary, at the Róheim Villa in Budapest.
The parties agreed that relations between the two countries have a long history and are currently at their best.
The Head of State congratulated the Chinese people on their outstanding economic achievements.
The President of Hungary pointed out that good economic and political relations are based on good people-to-people contacts. This includes cultural relations, tourism - which is facilitated by ever-increasing air traffic - and the strengthening of educational ties.
The President of Hungary explained that we are the only people in Europe with Asian origins, and we are extremely proud of this.
Chairman Zhao Leji expressed his agreement with the positive assessment of bilateral relations. Strategic cooperation can be built only on the basis of friendly relations and mutual trust between the two countries.
The negotiating parties agreed that bilateral relations should also be opened up to young people, as they are the key to future cooperation. Important areas in this regard are Artificial Intelligence and the digital economy, which engage new generations in collaboration.
