President Tamás Sulyok pays a working visit to Japan, followed by an official visit to Vietnam.
On 19 May 2025, Head of State Tamás Sulyok will pay a working visit to Japan. The Hungarian Head of State will be received in audience by His Majesty Emperor Naruhito, 126th Emperor of Japan. The President will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and hold talks with the heads of Japanese companies and investor groups present in Hungary.
Tamás Sulyok will also visit the World Expo in Osaka, where he will review the Hungarian and Japanese pavilions. The Head of State will meet with Kóno Taró, Chairman of the Japanese-Hungarian Parliamentary Friendship Group, and hold talks with Kyoto Governor Takatoshi Nishiwaki.
The President of Hungary attends the Hungarian-Japanese diplomatic memorial concert together with members of the imperial family. Tamás Sulyok will also meet students and lecturers of the Hungarian Department of Osaka University.
The Head of State will pay his respects at the National Peace Memorial Hall in Nagasaki, dedicated to the victims of the World War II atomic bombings, and then visit Urakami Cathedral, one of Japan's most famous Christian churches.
The President will then pay an official visit to Vietnam to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
In the Southeast Asian country, he will meet and hold talks with the country's public dignitaries, State President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Party General Secretary To Lam, as well as other political leaders.
