In his capacity under the powers granted by the Fundamental Law, President Tamás Sulyok nominated Dr. Gábor Bálint Nagy, Prosecutor, Head of Department at the Prosecutor General's Office, lecturer at Pázmány Péter Catholic University, for the post of Prosecutor General to be vacated by the resignation of Dr. Péter Polt, after consulting the leaders of the legal professions involved in the administration of justice.
The nominee has extensive experience in criminal law and a multi-faceted knowledge of the functioning of the judiciary. He began his legal career as a criminal judge and has held various prosecutorial posts over a long period of time. Dr. Gábor Báling Nagy has practical experience in criminal law at the theoretical level, including as university lecturer.
The President notified the National Assembly of the nomination.
