Hungarian-Kazakh Head of State meeting
Dr. Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary, received Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev at Sándor Palace.
During the working lunch, the Heads of State agreed that a shared history, identical perspectives and an identical worldview characterise the excellent relations between the two countries.
Hungary is seeking to develop multilateral and intensive relations with the countries of the Central Asian region, particularly in the economic sphere. President Tokayev said at the meeting that the aim of his visit was to take the already very good relations between Hungary and Kazakhstan to an even higher level. He recalled that Hungary was the first country in Europe where Kazakhstan established a diplomatic mission in 1993.
According to the President of Hungary, the past years have witnessed the development of a cooperation that has been beneficial for both sides. Dr. Tamás Sulyok recalled that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The two Heads of State discussed the consequences of climate change and the necessary environmental measures. They agreed that global solutions are needed.
Following the informal, friendly meeting, President Tokayev officially invited Dr. Tamás Sulyok to Kazakhstan next year.
