Meeting with the Governor of Kyoto

President Tamás Sulyok held a meeting with Takatoshi Nishiwaki, Governor of Kyoto Province. 

The meeting also focused on ways to strengthen Japanese-Hungarian economic and cultural relations.  181 Japanese companies currently operate in Hungary and provide 30,000 jobs. 

The President of Hungary commended the organisation and execution of the Osaka EXPO and the Japanese technological achievements showcased here. According to the Hungarian Head of State, the most important aim of these advancements is to ensure that "our planet remains liveable". 

Speaking at the Hiroshima nuclear bomb memorial, Tamás Sulyok stressed that "the most important task of the world and its leaders is to avoid all forms of nuclear war". 

The meeting also discussed details of Hungary’s family support scheme, as population decline is a serious problem for both countries.
