A historic moment – The Hungarian Head of State welcomes the President of the United Arab Emirates
Dr. Tamás Sulyok, President of Hungary, welcomed Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, with military honours at Kossuth Square.
Following the ceremonial reception, the two presidents and their delegations held official talks in the Hunting Room of the Parliament.
During the meeting, the parties agreed that Hungary and the United Arab Emirates share the common goal of deepening bilateral relations based on mutual respect and trust.
This is based on the fact that both countries consider development based on traditions and identity, the primacy of the family, the protection of life and respect for traditions as fundamental pillars of how society operates. Furthermore, both Hungary and the Emirates are countries that stand up boldly and proudly for their values and interests.
The Hungarian President stated that he is personally committed to the success of cooperation between the two countries.
The two Heads of State agreed that conflicts, whether regional or international, should be resolved through dialogue, diplomacy and cooperation.
Dr. Tamás Sulyok highly appreciated the United Arab Emirates' efforts to promote interfaith peace, combat radicalism and maintain regional stability.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasised that strong bridges can and must be built between the two countries on the basis of shared values and interests. He added that Hungary is a wonderful and beautiful country, where law and order provide security - which is the most important thing for a state and its citizens.
The two presidents agreed to continue their dialogue soon.
