Katalin Novák on official visit to Rwanda

In the course of her official visit to Rwanda, the President of Hungary visited Nyanza elementary and secondary school (Nyanza École Secondaire), where she attended a lesson on European history, followed by a visit to the handwashing facility built in the context of the Hungary Helps project. The facility is needed to ensure that the 1000 or so students who come here can learn in hygienic conditions.

The presidential gift cherished most by the locals were the two cows, which provide the schoolchildren with healthy milk.

The students welcomed Katalin Novák with the Hungarian folksong „Under the Mountains of Csitár”.
For many years, Hungary has been providing substantial assistance to Rwanda, a country with a tragic recent history, to help it achieve sustainable water management.
