Israel’s Foreign Minister at Sándor Palace

The Head of State and his guest discussed the Middle East peace process and the current situation in the region, expressing their hope that the guns in the Middle East would fall silent for good.

The Israeli Foreign Minister also handed Tamás Sulyok a letter from Omri Miran, of Hungarian descent, in which Omri Miran thanked Hungary and the Hungarian people for their support. Omri Miran was released by Hamas after 738 days in captivity. What he went through serves as a reminder of the unquestionable importance of peace.

The President of Hungary asked Foreign Minister Sa'ar to convey his heartfelt best wishes and an invitation to Sándor Palace to Omri Miran and his family.

President Sulyok also assured his guest that Hungary would take the strongest possible action against anti-Semitism both at home and internationally, and would stand up for the rights and safe living conditions of the Jewish community in Hungary.
