Katalin Novák met with the President of the International Olympic Committee

President of Hungary Katalin Novák met with the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach on Thursday in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Katalin Novák and Thomas Bach discussed the situation of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, the preparations for next year's Olympics in Paris and the return of Belarusian and Russian athletes to the Olympic Games under neutral flags, Hungarian Olympic Committee President Zsolt Gyulay told journalists at the IOC Headquarters on Thursday.

"The fact that President of Hungary Katalin Novák visited here and had such a long and good humoured conversation with the IOC President shows how much Hungary is respected here, that Hungarian sport is strong, as we have always been a sporting nation" - Zsolt Gyulay pointed out, emphasising that the President of Hungary also loves and does a lot of sport herself, and is an extremely good diplomat.

Zsolt Gyulay added: Katalin Novák was visibly pleased to attend the meeting at the IOC Headquarters, where history, the history of the Olympics and long-standing traditions meet.

Katalin Novák, who is on a working visit to Switzerland, will meet Federal President Alain Berset on Thursday and will give a presentation on Hungary's role in Europe at the Swiss Economic Forum.
